Kusatsu Onsen
Kusatsu Onsen
Kusatsu Onsen, in Gunma prefecture, is one of Japan’s three major hot springs. In the Kusatsu area, about 32,000 liters of hot water springs out every minute, which is the most in Japan. The Yubatake at the center of the town is constantly gushing with fresh hot water, and the light-up at night is absolutely gorgeous. At Kusatsu, you can watch and experience yumomi, a traditional technique used in the area to cool down the hot water from the springs.
