Omiya Bonsai Art Museum

The Omiya Bonsai Museum in Saitama City, in the southern part of Saitama Prefecture, is the world's first public bonsai museum. It is located near Omiya Bonsai Village, a central location for the bonsai industry.

The Omiya Bonsai Art Museum opened in 2010, and was established to promote the culture of bonsai, a traditional industry of Saitama City. Inside the building, there are various exhibitions related to bonsai, including bonsai plants, pot, water stones, and paintings. Here, you can learn about the history and culture of bonsai. The highlight is the Bonsai Garden which displays 40 to 50 bonsai. At the outside exhibition, you can enjoy bonsai from various angles. Don't miss the largest bonsai in the museum "Chiyo no Matsu (pine tree)".

There is also a bonsai joint-sales area in front of the parking lot, where bonsai can be purchased. There are also small and affordable ones available, that are perfect as souvenirs.
