Shibu Onsen locates in the town of Yamanouchi in Nagano prefecture. The area is referred to as the Yudanaka Shibu Onsen area, and is a nice onsen village. The Nine Public Baths are a Shibu Onsen must, and the nine baths can be entered without charge. One famous bathhouse in the town is Kanaguya. The wooden building of the bathhouse is designated as a national tangible cultural property. An ethereal touch is added to the retro atmosphere during the nightly light-ups.
