Oita Castle Ruin Park locates right by the Oita Castle’s castle keep area. Also known as Funai Castle, the castle was built in 1579 for feudal lord Takenaka Shigetoshi, who ruled the area. The park is known for its over 70 cherry blossom trees that blossom every April. During cherry blossoms season, the castle lights up to create an ethereal view.
