The Sendai Castle Ruins, built in 1602, is where feudal lord Date Masamune resided and ruled. Though the area used to have a forest and a valley, the castle and the nature was destroyed during the Second World War. Some of the stonewalls and towers are re-built to resemble the original castle. Now, Aobadai Park sits where the castle once was. Visit the castle keep base after sunset for a beautiful view of the entire city of Sendai.
