Old Kobe Foreign Settlement
Brand shops and cafes fill up the town of beautiful Western-styled buildings at the Old Kobe Foreign Settlement. Many foreigners who entered Japan after the Kobe Port was opened lived here about 150 years ago. This area has been praised for having beautiful buildings of European modern city techniques. At the end of the 19th century, the Japanese restored the area and made it the core of Japanese business. At the Old Kobe Foreign Settlement, there are many attractions, such as art galleries, museums, and movie theaters. There are still some buildings that have kept the retro vibe from its original make up, so please check out building 38 and building 15 in the Old Kobe Foreign Settlement.
