Ichijoudaniasakurashi Ruins

Located about 10km away from Fukui City of Fukui Prefecture, Sakurashi ruins is the remains of the warlord, Sakurashi's town, Jyoukamachi. Until its destruction in 1573 by Obu Nogunaga, it prospered for about 100 years. The 2.78㎢ of land is all a special historic landmark. The 4 tea garden that show the style from the Muromachi period is definitely a scenic spot. Also, 2343 artifacts from this landmark have been registered as Important Cultural Assets. The Sakurashi Ruins is one of the top 3 valued historic landmarks of Japan. Inside, you can see the reconstructed houses of samurais and regular citizens. Also, at the Ichijoudanisakurashi Morgue, artifacts and models are on display. Experience the history of Sakurashi as a whole!
