Hottarakashi Onsen in Yamanashi prefecture locates 700 meters above ground level, and provides a stunning view of Mount Fuji and the city of Yamanashi. It opened in 1999, and aims to provide hot spring baths that mesh well with its surrounding nature. From the rotemburo, or outdoor baths at Hottarakashi Onsen, you can see all of the Kofu Basin and Mount Fuji. If you’re lucky and the weather conditions are met, you might be able to see the sea of clouds from the rotemburo, too.
