Flower fields of Shikisai-no-oka

Shikisai no Oka

Shikisai no Oka is a hill that locates in Biei, Hokkaido. It is a huge flower garden of measuring 150 thousand square meters, and about 30 different kinds of flowers bloom like the arrangement of colors on a palette. These flowers can be seen anytime between spring to and fall, but the period between July to September is the best to visit. Various types of flowers bloom all at once, creating a rainbow flower garden which cannot be seen anywhere else. You can explore the flower fields by foot, or you can take the recommended “Norokko” bus tractor or the buggy. Moreover, there are other ways to enjoy in this park such as going to the “Alpaca Farm”, where you can interact with alpacas at a very close distance, or the “Shikisai no Oka Farm” where you can buy vegetables made on the hill. In winter, the garden gets covered with snow, enabling you to enjoy winter sports such as snowmobile and snow rafting.
