Oigawa Railways
Oigawa Railways
Oigawa Railways runs between Kanaya Station and Senzu Station and between Senzu Station and Ikawa Station in Shizuoka prefecture. This is one of the few spots in Japan where you can ride on a steam locomotive (SL in Japanese) train. The trains on the Oigawa Railway are from the 1930s and 40s. During your train ride, the guides will explain to you the history of the trains and some fun facts. There are occasional events geared towards children, such as the “Day out with THOMAS” event, where trains designed like Thomas and James from “Thomas the Tank” operate.
