Minato Park

Minato Park locates on the Port of Kashima in Ibaraki prefecture. The park is home to 8,000 Japanese palm trees and a collection of seasonal flowers. There is also a spacious lawn area where you can lie down and relax.
The park’s 52-meter tall observation deck allows for a beautiful panoramic view of the city of Kashima and its port. If the skies are clear enough, you might be able to see Mount Fuji, located a whole 160 kilometers away.
On January 1, the observation deck is open from 6:00a.m., allowing you to see the first sunrise of the year. You can see the sunrise along with the smoke coming up from the factories nearby. This special sunrise viewing is only open to the first 30 people in line.
