Ryuhyo Monogatari Train
Ryuhyo Monogatari Train
The Ryuhyo Monogatari Train runs between Abashiri and Shiretoko-Shari Stations on the northeastern coast of Hokkaido. It runs through the Kushiro Wetland, an area that is registered in the Ramsar List, which is a list of wetlands, which have been declared as “internationally important”. The train travels slowly, making frequent stops for passengers to enjoy the view. One of the stops, Kitahama Station, provides an observatory where you can see the glaciers in the Okhotsk Sea. At Hama-Koshimizu Station, you can buy local goods and souvenirs at the many small shops at the nearby road station. On the Ryuhyo Monogatari Train, there are special lunch boxes and desserts that can only be enjoyed there. The train is a great experience for a day out with your family.
