Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden
The Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden can be found in the town of Shari on the Shiretoko Peninsula in northeastern Hokkaido. It locates on a thin dune sandwiched between the Okhotsk Sea and Lake Tofutsu. Between late May and early September, over 200 types of flowers blossom throughout the garden. Fields of ezokisuge, a dainty yellow flower, can be found all over the gardens. At Hana, the garden information center, you can rent out a bicycle to explore the gardens. You can also head to Tenrangaoka Observatory, located in the garden, for a view of the surrounding scenery. Between May and October, the Gensei-kaen Station is open for easy access to Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden.
