Odaito

Odaito is and area in the town of Betsukai on the northeastern coast of Hokkaido.
In the summer, you can fish at Notsuke Bay and enjoy the countryside landscape. During the cold, harsh winters, you might be able to see the “square sunrise”, a phenomenon caused by the refraction of the lights.
There is also an observatory located at the road station, Michinoeki Odaito. From there, you can oversee the sea and the islands on it.
Nearby, you can find other beautiful sights such as the Notsuke Peninsula and Todowara.
