Mount Rishiri
Mount Rishiri
Mount Rishiri is located on Rishiri Island, Japan’s northernmost island. The island is commonly referred to as “Rishiri Fuji” for the beauty of its form and its resemblance to Mount Fuji. The mountain measures 1,721 meters tall. The view from the peak is amazing, since there is nothing in the way to block it. The hiking trail is quite narrow, so those who visit should climb with caution. At the foot of the mountain is Menushoro Swamp. The swamp reflects Mount Rishiri and creates a postcard-like view. Rishiri Island is a perfect destination for hikers and surfers. The island’s waves are known to be great for surfing.
