Akita Inu Hall, in Odate, Akita, is dedicated to Akita-inu dogs. The city of Odate is known as the home of the Akita-inu. The hall was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Akita-inu Preservation Society. Here, visitors can learn about the history of Akita-inu and their habits and characteristics. The first floor is the hall office, the second hall is a meeting hall, and the third floor is the hall museum. At the museum, visitors can learn about the relationship between Odate and Akita-inu, and about the famous dog Hachiko, which was an Akita-inu. Akita Inu Hall is a must-visit for dog lovers, since there are real Akita-inu there that visitors can pet and play with.
