The Odate Magewappa Experience Studio locates in the city of Odate in Akita prefecture. Magewappa is a traditional craft made of cedar, and here, you can experience making your own wooden items.
Magewappa is made by bending thin sheets of cedar. Commonly seen magewappa items include bento lunch boxes, plates, sushi plates and more.
At the Odate Magewappa Experience Studio, a professional instructor guides you through the steps of magewappa making. In an hour or two, you will have your very own magewappa craft.
In the studio, there is also an exhibit of professionally made magewappa items.
