HAGISO
HAGISO
HAGISO stands in Tokyo’s Taito district. It opened in 2013 in a renovated wooden apartment building that was more than 60-years old. HAGISO calls itself “the smallest multi-cultural facility.” Two tenants occupy the first floor. HAGI ART exhibits contemporary artwork and HAGI CAFE serves hand drip coffee and homemade desserts. The cafe’s breakfast menu features ingredients sourced from regions across Japan. Miscellaneous items are sold in a corner of the cafe.
The second floor is home to HAGI salon, which offers various beauty treatments. hanare’s reception area is also located on the second floor. The HAGISO building retains most of its original features including the apartment’s old signboard, which is displayed inside the entrance.
HAGISO is where tradition meets contemporary. There is much to explore in Yanaka, one of Tokyo’s most historic neighborhoods. Make time to drop by HAGISO for its art, coffee, or relaxing spa treatments.
