Minamihara Hotaru no Sato

"Minamihara Hotaru no Sato" is located in Osaki city of eastern Miyagi prefecture.
It is a popular spot inside an onsen village where you can see fireflies illuminate the rural night scenery during late June to July.
At the Minamihara Bank, the "Genji Fireflies" and the "Heike Fireflies" can both be seen at the same time.
With no nearby light sources, the surrounding thick darkness further enhances the beauty of the  dancing fireflies.
You should also note that since it is located within the Naruko Onsen Village, you can enjoy hot springs after this magical experience.
Naruko's springs are famous for their thick water texture, and within this one town, you can experience many different types of hot spring compositions. Specifically, there are five: "simple spring", "sodium bicarbonate spring", "sodium sulfate spring", "sulfur spring", and "alcaline spring".
