Shimokitazawa Cage
Shimokitazawa Cage
Shimokitazawa Cage is a multi-space venue about a three-minutes walk from Shimokitazawa Station. It stands on a lot that is temporarily vacant due to ongoing rennovation work around the station. A food stall called Long Van Quan stands next to the tall fences, serving Asian food and beer. Rows of colorful chairs and tables are lined up inside the "Cage." The eating space is reminescent of Vietnamese food stalls and blends perfectly with Shimokitazawa's eceletic vibe. Shimokitazawa Cage welcomes visitors every day from 1PM, and attracts many local residents who come to rest. Shimokitazawa's roads are narrow and full of traffic, so the "Cage" offers a peaceful rest spot especially for families with young children. Various events, including day and night markets are held here on a regular basis. Shimokitazawa Cage opened in March 2016 for a limited period only. It is due to close at the end of September. Hurry and visit now, or it will be gone soon.
