Ochanomizu Origami Kaikan
Ochanomizu Origami Kaikan
The "Ochanomizu Origami Kaikan" stands in Yushima of Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. It was formerly a traditional Washi paper manufacturer established in 1858, and was reformed as a facility specializing in Origami where you can enjoy Origami related activities, including viewing, experiencing, and shopping. Mr. Kazuo Kobayashi, the chairman of the International Origami Association, serves as the director to convey the fun of Origami through various exhibits. A wide range of attractions are provided including an Origami craft gallery, a shop full of Origami/Chiyogami papers and textbooks, classes/workshops inheriting the traditional handmade paper dying methods of "Yushima-no-Kobayashi", and more. Lessons are held regularly, where you can learn how to create Origami accessories and seasonal motifs from the pros. Reservations must be made in advance, so be updated on their website for current information.
