Yushima Seido

This Confucian temple and study center was built in 1630 to spread Confucian teachings, and worked as an educational facility for most of its history. After the Meiji Restoration, Yushima Seido served as an educational center that became the foundation of Tokyo University, Tsukuba University and Ochanomizu University. Because of its educational background, many students come here to pray for successful admission into their school of choice.
