Sumida Edo Kiriko Kan
Sumida Edo Kiriko Kan is located in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. This shop sells Edo Kiriko glassware made by Hirota Glass co., Ltd. a Japanese glassware company established in 1899.
Sumida Edo Kiriko Kan regularly displays and sells over 350 types of colorful Edo Kiriko glassware. There are also exhibit panels introducing the various patterns and production processes of Edo Kiriko glassware.
You can watch the craftsmen and their experienced, fine-tuned cutting work on glass, at the back of the store through the windows. The popular red and blue Edo Kiriko are available, alongside various shapes and colors of pale pink, deep purple, soft green and others. There are also limited editions whose patterns symbolize the Tokyo Skytree. Take a good look around, and find your favorite to add to your dining table!
You can also make your own original Edo Kiriko, and learn the glass-cutting techniques yourself. Please refer to the official web-site for detailed information.
