Since its creation in 1954, the Nagoya TV Tower has emitted radio waves for local tv stations. Today, the tower stands as a symbol for the city of Nagoya. At its peak, the tower was so popular that three hour lines to go inside was a common sight. Since 1989, the tower has a nightly light up. Inside are many attractions like event venues, wedding halls and even a monument signifying the tower as a "sacred place for lovers".
