Aichi Prefecture's Sanage Onsen Hot Springs is located at the bottom of Mount Sanage, in Kougen State Park. It is the biggest natural radon-based hot spring in Aichi Prefecture, and has been nicknamed the "hot springs of medicine".
Sanage Onsen is also the only hot spring from of the three Tokai Prefectures to be counted in the publication "Miraculous Hot Springs Recommended by Doctors". The spring water has been designated as safe to drink, and is gaining popularity as having healing properties. It can also be taken home as a souvenir.
Hotel Kinsenkaku, the only accommodation facility in Sanage Onsen Hot Springs has a public bathtub made of 1000 year-old Japanese cypress. Cypress has a distinct, relaxing scent that will perfectly accompany your time in the medicinal hot springs of Sanage Onsen.
