Sengokubara

Sengokubara, in Kanagawa prefecture’s onsen town of Hakone, is a spacious field willed with susuki grass. Susuki is a type of grass native to eastern Asian countries, and turn a beautiful light gold shade in the fall. At Sengokubara, you can see the colored susuki grass between late September and early November. From the restaurant Hoshino-An, you can get a magnificent view of the susuki field. However, the restaurant is extremely popular during the fall seasons, so make sure to make a reservation when visiting. If you want to see other plants in the area, head to Hakone Shisseikan, a botanical park located near Sengokubara.
