GarinkoⅡIcebreaker Cruise
GarinkoⅡIcebreaker Cruise
The GarinkoⅡIcebreaker Cruise runs through the Okhotsk Sea, just east of Hokkaido. The ship runs as an icebreaker cruise during the winter season, and serves as a fishing ship in the summer. It takes off at Monbetsu with 195 passengers on board. During the winter months, glaciers float across the Okhotsk Sea. The ship breaks through the glaciers to cruise on forward. In the summer season, the GarinkoⅡtransforms into a fishing cruise ship. You can try fishing up a monbetsu-garei, or flounder, which is famous throughout Hokkaido and Japan for its tastiness. Fishing rods and bait are all available on the ship. During both seasons, the ship requires a prior reservation and needs at least 10 passengers to operate.
