Cape Nosappu
Cape Nosappu is the easternmost point in Japan (excluding remote islands), and locates in Hokkaido. It is a popular New Years Day destination, as it is the place with the first sunrise in Japan. At the very tip of the cape, you can find the Cape Nosappu Lighthouse. From here, you can get a beautiful view of the sea and the Hoppo islands: Habomai, Kunashiri, and Etorofu. On lucky days, you might be able to see sea otters and whales too. About a 7-minute walk away from the cape, you can reach the Aurora Tower. From the observatory there, you can see the sea and the surrounding land.
