Cape Nosappu Lighthouse

Cape Nosappu Lighthouse
Cape Nosappu Lighthouse locates on the easternmost point of Hokkaido. It is Japan’s easternmost lighthouse (excluding ones on remote islands). It was completed in 1872, and is the oldest lighthouse in Hokkaido. It is chosen as one of Japan’s top 50 lighthouses. Since the cape is the easternmost point in Japan, it is a popular spot for hatsuhinode, or seeing the first sunrise of the year. The Four Hoppo Islands locate right off the cape. On the cape, there are museums and other facilities that are related to the islands.
