Cape Shiretoko
Cape Shiretoko locates in the Shari district of northern Hokkaido. It is a special preservation district, and in 2005, the area was designated as a part of a World Natural Heritage Site. The cape is not accessible via land, and can only be reached by boat. On the cliffs by the cape, you can find animals such as cormorants, eagles, seals and bears. At the tip of the cape, there are ruins from the indigenous civilization of the area. About 26 kilometers from Cape Shiretoko is Kamuiwakka Falls, which you can also see from a boat ride. You can see the waters directly falling into the Okhotsk Sea.
