Mount Rausu
Mount Rausu locates on the Shiretoko Peninsula in northeastern Hokkaido. It has a height of 1,661 meters, and is the highest of the Shiretoko Mountain Range. The mountain is a part of Shiretoko National Park, which was made in 1964. In 2005, the entire peninsula, including this mountain, was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountain has a postcard-like view, and is one of the representative spots of the Shiretoko Peninsula. About 6.5 kilometers away from the mountain, you can find the Shiretoko Five Lakes. On the lakes, you can see the reflection of Mount Rausu. You can hike around the lakes for more spectacular views.
