Garo Falls
Garo Falls locates in southwestern Hokkaido, and is a part of the Kariba-Motta Prefectural Natural Park. It measures 75 meters high and 35 meters wide. There is a legend of the falls that there is a dragon lying beneath it carrying the treasures of the Matsumae Domain (present day Hokkaido). In honor of the legend, a dragon memorial is built by the falls. There is even sparkling water, named “Dragon Water”, sold by the falls. Garo Falls is located by a beech forest, and the town the falls is located in has a nice coast.
