Kanchogai-dori (Komakaido)

Kanchogai-dori (Komakaido)
Kanchogai-dori, also known as Komakaido, is a street that runs through Towada city in Aomori prefecture. Since Towada is famous for horse breeding, there is a large bronze statue of a horse on the street. In the spring, 156 cherry blossom trees bloom on the sides of the road. The cherry blossoms and the several statues and sculptures on the side of the road create an artistic, lovely view. You can get a great view of the cherry blossoms from the observatory floor at the city hall. During the Towada Spring Festival, held between mid-April and early May, shops and food stands pop up on Kanchogai-dori. There is even a horseback riding experience booth during the festival.
