The "Takehisa Yumeji Museum of Art" is located in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. The museum offers exhibitions of works by Yumeji Takehisa. The representative of "Taisho Roman" made his debut in 1902. The museum stands adjacent to "Yayoi Museum", which was founded in 1984. Takehisa Yumeji Museum was opened in 1990 to exhibit collections that belonged to Takumi Kano, a the former chairman of Yayoi Museum. There is approximately 3,300 collections, including letters and items left by Yumeji as well as his original paintings. The museum constantly offers exhibitions of 200 to 250 works by Yumeji. Takehisa Yumiji created a unique style of painting that combines Japanese nostalgia and Western modernism. The sentimentality felt from the female figures in "Yumeji shiki bijin-ga (beautiful woman painted in the Yumej style)" is attributed to brushwork unique to Yumeji. We recommend you go see the world created by the ever so popular Yumeji
