Circulo Pottery Experience Workshop

The Circulo Tōgei Taiken Kōbō(Circulo Ceramics Experience Workshop) is located in the Yamanaka Onsen area of Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The Kutani-yaki workshop is on the second floor of Kinuya, a Kutani-yaki pottery studio. A professional potter will guide you in the  workshops which include a pottery wheel workshop and ceramic painting workshop. After you are done molding the clay made from “Hanasaka” porcelain stone, a professional will carefully finish up the final steps, such as like carving and glazing.  In the ceramic painting workshop, you can use authentic Japanese painting tools. The authentic experience is possible because the Circulo Workshop is part of an actual Kutani-yaki pottery studio. Other experiences only offered here include painting an “Owansan (mascot character of Yamanaka Onsen)” mug cup and “Yukatabe-san” figure. The workshops can take from 15 minutes to an hour. Nearby is a famous spot of the Yamanaka Onsen, the Kurotani Bridge of the Kakusenkei Gorge, which has beautiful scenery that can be enjoyed in every season. It is especially nice in the autumn when the fall foliage can be seen.
