Nihonbashi Takashimaya

Nihonbashi Takashimaya is located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. It is a long-established department store that celebrates its 120th anniversary.
The main building is famous for being the first department store to be designated as an important cultural property. An elevator girl rides in the elevators until this day, and they have great hospitality. There is a garden called  “Roof Garden” of about 6,000 square meters on the roof.
The new building that expanded in 2018 has more than 100 stores including cafes and shops. This nihonbashi takashimaya is a definitely the best department store around here. If you visit the new building and the main building you will feel the luxury, regarless of the transition of the times.
Another thing to remember is the East Building. There is the “Pokemon Cafe” which is very popular amongst foreign tourists. Menus with Pokemon items depend on the season, so you can enjoy everytime you visit the cafe.
