Minato Odori Park

"Minato Odori Park" is located in the center of Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a popular for the illuminations that cover the street in the winter. Appropriately for its name - meaning "main street" - Odori Park is a long strip of grass running along its nearby large road. Resting spots such as fountains and monuments are set all around the park. In the winter, more than 50 zelkova trees in the park are illuminated to create a beautiful line of lights. The fountains and monuments are lit up to create a fantastic space, for this annual winter tradition of Kagoshima City. A short walk from Odori leads to the Meizanbori area which is lined with  many retro-styled shops.
