aging Awamori in an oak barrel vintage Awamori keep service

Kamimura Distillery

Kamimura Distillery is located in Uruma shi, centrally located on the main island of Okinawa. It is an Awamori distillery on the nature-rich Ishikawa Plateau. Their flagship product is a vintage Awamori called "Danryu", aged in oak barrels. This Awamori has a sweet fragance due to its aging in oak barrels used for whiskey. Kamimura Distillery was the first to research and utilize oak barrels for Awamori storage, although now several distilleries use this method. Keeping a bottle of vintage Awamori under their "cellar keep service" is a perfect way to commemorate your trip to Okinawa. Your Awamori will be aged slowly in the the consistent temperature of an underground cellar, and sent to you once it has reached maturity (shipping fee charged separately). Of course, you can return to Kamimura Distillery again to retrieve it yourself. Five or ten years later, you can raise a glass for a "cheers" while reminicing about your Okinawa trip. By making a reservation 3 days before visiting, you can participate in the Awamori distillery tour and learn about the Awamori distilling process while touching the raw materials. After the tour, you can try samples and purchase your favorite after checking their tastes.
