Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden
Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden is located in Hakodate City, southern Hokkaido. Exhibiting mainly tropical plants, the greenhouse in the botanical garden has about 3,000 tropical plants of about 300 species. In addition to well-known tropical plants such as hibiscus and bougainvillea, rare types of cacti are also on display. You can enjoy colorful flowers even in winter.
In addition to the botanical garden, there are many other attractions from the Saruyama (Monkey Mountain), go-karts, Yugu Chibikko Hiroba (play equipment for small children) to footbaths, for all ages to enjoy. The most popular area is the Saruyama, where there are Japanese macaques. If you purchase monkey feed, you can experience feeding the monkeys. In the winter, the Water Square in the park becomes a monkey hot spring, and you can see the cute monkeys relaxing inside it.
