Makanai Cosmetics (Tokyo Solamachi)

Makanai Cosmetics was founded in Kanazawa, Ishikawa by women working in the gold leaf factories (makanai), to keep their skin protected from the harsh, dry work environment. Their products include hand creams and oil blotting sheets, which were all tested out innumerable times to ensure quality. There are 14 shops throughout Japan and even overseas, such as in France and Singapore.
At the Tokyo Sky Tree Solamachi shop, there is a limited edition hand cream only sold there. The scent is inspired by the view of the sunny skies at 634 meters above ground level. The packaging too, is Tokyo Skytree-inspired.
