Amezaiku is a piece of candy art made using a traditional Japanese sculpting technique, which dates back to the 8th century. It was popularized during the Edo period (1603 - 1867) when Amezaiku craftsmen took to the streets to entertain people with their candy crafting skills. Amezaiku is created by heating candy up to around 90 degrees celsius. It is then put on a stick and shaped carefully with a specialized pair of scissors. You can witness the precision and speed of a craftsmen while they race against time as the candy rapidly cools and hardens. Aside from Amezaiku, you will be able to purchase other Japanese candies at the store.
