Korankei Gorge
Korankei Gorge, located in the town of Asuke in Aichi prefecture, is known for its magnificent views during the fall months. In 1634, a monk from Kojakuji Temple went on a mission to plant maple trees by the Tomoe River, which runs through Korankei Gorge. Throuhout history, local volunteers helped plant more and more maples by the river, and over 4,000 maples stand today. During fall foliage season (from late October to late November), the trees of the valley are lit up after sunset. The valley is beautiful year round – with cute wildflowers decorating area in the spring, and fresh greenery livening up the air in the summer.
