Gero Onsen

Gero Onsen of Gero city, Gifu Prefecture, is one of Japan's 3 excellent springs along with Hyogo Prefecture's Arima Onsen and Gunma Prefecture's Kusatsu Onsen. Many priests have bathed at this onsen because of its renowned history with Tokugawa Shogunate and many more.
The alkali simple hot springs at Gero Onsen have been said to help with rheumatism and neurotic disorders. Also, the hot springs are called "Beauty Bath" for its benefits for the skin. In order to enjoy the hot spring to its fullest, purchasing the bath map is recommended.
At the Onsen Town area, many stores that have famous foods, such as Hida district's Monkey bobo candies and Hida Beef.
