Fall foliage at Mount Daisetsu

Mount Daisetsu is a volcanic mountain range in central Hokkaido. It is a part of Japan’s largest national park, Daisetsu-zan National Park. The highest peak on the range is Mount Asahi, and you can also find other well-known mountains such as Mount Tokachi. Throughout its spacious 2,300㎢ mountains, there are many alpine plants and some rare animals. The fall foliage on Mount Daisetsu is quite beautiful as well. At the base of the mountain is Sounkyo Onsen hot springs. The hot springs locates in a valley. Since the mountains are so big, it might be a good idea to stay at an onsen resort for a few nights to have enough time to explore.
