Shiretoko Odan Road (National Route 334)
Shiretoko Odan Road, officially known as National Route 334, is a route that connects the eastern and western coasts of the Shiretoko Peninsula. It begins in the town of Rausu on the eastern coast, and ends at Bihoro-cho of Abashiri District. The 23.8-kilometer route provides beautiful sights throughout your drive. On the western side of the route, the roads have wider curves. The curves on the eastern side are narrower and the road itself becomes narrower as well. Shiretoko National Park spreads around the route. If you go on a drive on a clear day, you’ll be able to see surrounding sights such as Mount Rausu and the Okhotsk Sea. There are many other sightseeing spots you can access via Route 334, such as Rausu Onsen Hot Springs, Cape Shiretoko, Mount Rausu, Utoro Onsen and Oshin Koshin Falls.
