Tokyo Tower

The Tokyo Tower is located in Tokyo’s Minato Ward, and is an iconic piece of architecture that has made itself known worldwide since its construction in 1958.
Tokyo Tower is currently composed of its two observatory decks - the “Main Deck” at an altitude of 150m, and the “Top Deck” at 250m - and the commercial venue “Foottown” at its foot.
The Main Deck can be accessed both by a 600-step staircase and a special elevator, while access to the Top Deck is only available via participation in a pre-reserved “Top Deck Tour”. At the Top Deck, you will be treated to a 250m-high view of Tokyo, as well as the futuristic aesthetic created by geometric mirrors and LED light displays. A variety of events take place in the observatories depending on the time of year, including anime collaborations and the summer-exclusive milky way illuminations.
Tokyo Tower itself is also beautifully lit up at night. The “Landmark Night” event has 180 lights illuminate Tokyo Tower, while every Friday and Saturday see the illumination of Tokyo Tower with 12 colors that change monthly. Great views of the illuminated Tokyo Tower can be had from the nearby Shiba Park and Zojoji Temple.
At Foottown, you will find restaurants, a foodcourt, official merchandise stores, and art galleries, and more. All of these create an experience at Tokyo Tower that many continue to visit, even without climbing to the observatory decks.
