The Hakone Lalique Museum
The Hakone Lalique Museum is located in Sengokuhara in Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture. The museum displays works by Rene Lalique, a successful French jewelry and glass craftsperson in the 19th and 20th centuries. Lalique created jewelry from his 20s to 40s and in his 50s and later, he produced various works as a glass craftsperson. In the museum, you can always find over 200 pieces of his works. Above all, Sylphide, a brooch showing the sophistication of his design, is a must see. Also on display is the Orient Express, whose interior was decorated by Lalique. You can go inside the train to directly see the glass decoration by Lalique, and also enjoy the special sweets by the pastry chef of the museum.
