Choanji Temple(Hakone Town)

Choanji Temple(Hakone Town)
Choanji Temple, in the town of Hakone, Kanagawa, originally located in the Ubako Area, but was re-built in 1658 in the Sengokubara area. The temple lies peacefully in the woods. On the temple grounds, you can find the Gohyakurakan Buddha statues. There are hundreds of these small Buddha statues, each with different expressions and poses. Choanji is especially popular during the fall foliage season. The trees surrounding the temple change colors, and create a traditional Japanese autumn landscape.
