Dollhouse Museum Hakone
Dollhouse Museum Hakone
Doll House Musem Hakone stands alongside the Old Hakone Highway in Hakone Machi, Kanagawa Prefecture. The museum used to be the Ashinoyu Flower Center, a greenhouse that accommodated various types of beautiful flowers. After renovation, the place was reborn as a museum dedicated to dollhouses in 2017. In the museum, elaborately-made dollhouses in 1/12 of the real-life size are on display. There are over 100 items in total on exhibition, including many antique dollhouses from the American Motts Miniature Collection and the English Vivian Green Collection, which is acclaimed as the world's dollhouse pioneer. The museum offers opportunities to enjoy the dollhouses from various perspectives, including seeing dollhouses, learning about the lifestyles and culture of people in the days that the dollhouses recreate, and actually getting miniature dollhouse items at the store.
