Matsuyama Castle

Matsuyama Castle is one of the oldest castle in Japan, inherits its traditional architectural style. It is one of the 12 castles which remains the castle tower (天守) built in Edo period. Its main building stands at the top of Mount Katsuyama (132m). You can either walk or use ropeways and lifts to climb up. Around the mountain is a nice calm park with lots of historical sights, and of course beautiful cherry blossoms in spring.
